Carotid Endarterectomy is a procedure to remove the plaque (Either fat or Cholesterol)from carotid artery to prevent brain stroke.Etiology, Pathogenesis and clinical presentations are different in different people starting from simple TIA(Transient Ischemic attack to Paralysis and many times they might lead to coma and death. Timely diagnosis and treatment is crucial. CEA is a simple procedure and usually indicated when the stenosis is more than 70% of its luminal diameter. This procedure can be done either under General Anaesthesia or under Local Anaesthesia. Please find the details of this procedures.
